Describe the situation in which hand regulation might be
desirable for operation of generator when running.
Under normal condition generator when running in parallel
share equal loads [KVAr & KW]
In a case where due to fault in governor or AVR of any of the
generator, this load are unequally shared, manual
regulation would be needed.
Manual regulation would be meaning adjustment or regulation
of voltage and frequency of the alternator.
In case [usually not present on ship] 2 generator of unequal
capacities are to run in parallel manual regulation would be needed
Case where load fluctuation on a
generator is high.
In case where power management system employed i.e. auto starting of generator and coming on load as per load increasing requirement, Failure of such a system would necessitate a manual regulation.
