1st attempt

BY BND:

General introduction and type of ship.

1. He asked me for bulk carriers there is one regulation for alarm in all tank forward of bulkhead .. what is that .. I told him Solas chapter 12 ... Water ingress regulation  in detail he was satisfied.

2. All detailed survey in DD .. couldn't satisfy him

3. Intact stability code, part A is Implementation and part B is recommendations. now tell me what all recommendations for bulk carrier and tankers .. ... Couldn't reply and told sorry sir I have studied part A in detail ..

4. ISO 8217:2015,2017 Catfine limit as per owner , operators, maker point of view ..  I replied him but he was not fully satisfied

5. MS act unseaworthy and unsafe ship .. I replied him but missed one point that is missing equipment ... So considered partially.

6. ISM Code shipboard operations... I told him ISM code  reg-7, he asked me key shipboard operations??? Now tell me you have joined as chief engineer and  before commencement of Voyage what all key shipboard operations are there which you check .. Bhai Maine sab bataya ..satisfied Nahi tha ..

7. Vetting and right ship inspection ... For whom, why and how? What is KPI ? Was not fully satisfied

8. In tribology.. what is cavitation and corrosion in cylinder lubrication... In this part he has written more cross questions but as I got stuck at cavitation ...didn't ask further .

9. ISM emergency preparedness, I told the regulation now he asked suppose there is major Fire in Accommodation ..what is the action as chief engineer.. initial, follow up , corrective and reporting... I started from initial action .. raise the alarm, muster and then follow up action and stop AC and ventilation fan for Accommodation... Stop all sanitary fan, cut the power of accomodation, start the emergency fire pump ... Here he stopped me and asked me that you are forgetting one thing which can lead  fire to be worst ... But I couldc recall anything .. I think he wanted to hear ... Stopping of ME ... Which I missed .

Rao:

1. What is the deference between conversation and protocol...explain with example ... I explained ... With CLC example then he asked me give some other example related to bulk carrier as you have done bulk carrier... This I couldn't recall ...

One more question by Rao .. couldn't recall .

Sent me outside ...after discussion with internal called me and told that ...you have given answers up to 30-40 %but need to improve ...

..result : fail
