ELECTRICAL TELEMOTOR :

With the movement of bridge steering wheel, unbalancing the wheatstone bridge and a current flows through the field winding of the servo motor whose armature is energized otherwise with a voltage supply. The servo- motor through a flexible coupling (or electromagnetic clutch) rotates the screw shaft which causes the screw block to move and hunt rheostat 'A' back to equilibrium to balance the bridge when the motor will stop. The Screw block connected to one end of the floating leaver moves it longitudinally. A rod connected to the mid-point of the floating lever thus adjusts the stroke of the variable delivery pump, in response to the movement of the floating lever by the servomotor.

With the pump delivering liquid to one side of the ram, the tiller moves, and the free end of the floating lever connected with tiller by a cut-off linkage (hunting gear), acts to counter-act the initial movement and brings the gear to rest by restoring the pump control lever to the no-stroke position. To change to local hand control, the electrical supply is switched off and the spring detent on the handwheel is lifted while the handwheel shaft is pushed home so that the spur engages and hand control can be made.
